The Vincentiana Collections at DePaul University’s Archives and Special Collections recently purchased this carte de visite (c. 1864) of Jean-Baptiste Etienne. Monsieur Etienne served as the 14th superior general of the Congregation of the Mission and the Company of the Daughters of Charity from his election in 1843 to his death in 1874. It is believed that this photo can be dated to the time of the General Assembly held in Paris in 1864.
