3 Great Study Spots on Campus
Harold Washington Library Center
Located just two blocks from campus, the Harold Washington Library Center is the largest public library in Chicago and one of the largest in the world, covering a vast 756,000 square feet. This iconic building is an excellent place for studying, offering a wide range of resources, quiet study areas, and plenty of room to spread out. Whether you need to focus on your work, find research materials, or simply enjoy the unique architectural beauty of the space, it’s a perfect spot. If you find yourself in need of a break, there’s plenty to explore inside, from stunning art exhibits to hidden nooks for reading and reflection.
7th Floor Student Center
This cozy and quiet room, tucked away on the 7th floor of the DePaul Center, is ideal for tackling homework, preparing for exams, or working with classmates. While not one of the largest spaces, it’s a hidden gem that’s often quieter than other public areas. With comfortable seating and a calm atmosphere, it provides the perfect environment for focused work. Plus, its location is super convenient—especially during the cold winter months. Since many of my classes are in the DePaul Center, I don’t have to brave the cold to get my work done, making it an even more appealing option.
Starbucks at 55 E Jackson
If you’re someone who likes to combine caffeine with productivity, the Starbucks at 55 E Jackson is a perfect place to kickstart your day. Whether you need that morning jolt of energy or simply want a cozy spot to review notes before class, this Starbucks is the ideal location. With its comfortable seating, friendly vibe, and a steady flow of students and professionals, it offers a relaxed yet productive environment for getting work done before heading to your next lecture.
