Congratulations to three of our alumni who received 2017 Emmy nominations!
ANN DOWD (MFA, Acting, ’82) received two nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Aunt Lydia on Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, and Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Patti Levin on HBO’s The Leftovers. These are Ann’s first two nominations.
KEVIN LAWSON (BFA, Lighting Design, ’91) received a nomination for Outstanding Lighting Design Lighting Direction For A Variety Special for his work as lighting director on NBC’s Hairspray Live! This is Kevin’s third nomination.
EUGENE LEE (BFA, Scene Design, ’64) received a nomination for Outstanding Production Design for Variety Nonfiction Reality or Reality Competition Programming for his work as production designer on NBC’s Saturday Night Live, where he has served as production designer since SNL began. This is Eugene’s 13th nomination. He previously won in 2013 for Outstanding Art Direction For Variety Or Nonfiction Programming.
The Emmy awards will be broadcast live on Sunday, 9/17/2017 at 7pm CDT on CBS.
