Vincentian Heritage Journal

The DePaul University Vincentian Studies Institute is proud to announce the publication of our newest free-to-download edition of Vincentian Heritage, Volume 38, Number 2.

This issue features articles that center upon North American Vincentian Family histories. Sr. Betty Ann McNeil discusses the accounts of two Sisters of Charity of St. Joseph during the first five years of their new community in Emmitsburg, MD. Following up on her study of Elizabeth Seton’s ecological spirituality, Sr. Sung-Hae Kim explores the qualities of mystical experience found in the American saint’s writings. Fr. John Rybolt investigates the early history of Bishop John Timon, noting several significant moments in his life that up to now have been omitted from study. Finally, Anne Gallagher details the history of Archbishop John Joseph Lynch, particularly his ties to Niagara Falls and to developing it as a nineteenth-century site of Catholic pilgrimage.
