DMC Inaugural Immigration Summit

The DePaul DMC Immigration Summit on April 29, 2022, in Chicago fostered dialogue on immigration and human rights issues. Scholars, advocates, and community partners discussed topics like crisis response, immigration enforcement, local creative responses, detention, mental health, and climate change’s impact on refugee status. The aim was to boost collaboration and lay foundations for future partnerships.

The DMC Convening: Network Weaver Event on April 14, 2023, is a meeting of DePaul faculty focusing on migration studies. The event includes networking, project highlights, cross-disciplinary discussions, and small group workshops. The goal is to foster collaboration among scholars, with moderators guiding discussions on strengths, challenges, and potential areas of cooperation. The main takeaways will be shared in a final plenary session.
