Night cravings? Try these places near the LCP campus!
With midterms right under our noses, I am sure that many fellow students are staying up late to finish their last cramming session. Food at an ungodly hour isn’t easily available, and this is why I have compiled a short list of places you can visit to fuel your body. At the end of the day, an empty stomach isn’t going to let you absorb a lot of knowledge!
1. Insomnia Cookies
If you are in the mood for something small and sweet, Insomnia Cookies is the place to go. Open till 1 a.m., this place has a variety of delicious cookies. A short walk of 15 minutes from the Student Center is all you need to get there. From classics such as “Snickerdoodle” to specials like “S’mores”, I am sure you will find something you will smack your lips at.
2. D.P. Dough
Craving something savoury instead? Warm and delicious Calzones might just be the thing for you. A 16-minute walk from the Stu, this place is open till 4 in the morning. My personal favourite has to be the “Spinner Zone” Calzone, which has Spinach, Mozzarella, Ricotta and Garlic
3. Subway
Located right next to D.P. Dough is the Subway which is open 24 hours. This is a classic which you can never go wrong with.
4. Taco Bell
Taco Bell by Armitage has been a recurring spot for my friends and me when we get those “Midnight Munchies”. My current obsession is the “Black Bean Chalupa Supreme”. It is quite embarrassing (or impressive) just how quickly I can scarf them down.
5. Allende
Just a short walk from the Lincoln Park campus, this is another option for delicious Tacos and Burritos. Always buzzing with people, this is a great takeaway spot which also can be a sit-down place. Open till 3 am, this has to be my current favourite spot near campus at the moment.
Before I end this listicle, here is a friendly reminder to always stay hydrated throughout exam week. Ensure that even if you stay up late, you get 8 hours of sleep in total per day. Without proper rest, food and care, your brain won’t be able to retain a lot of information. In that case, all the efforts will go in vain. It’s smart to always sleep on time and plan your day accordingly, but if you do work better at night, make sure you do not starve yourself.
Best luck, you can do this!
