The Wind Blows

Purpose: Fun activity to learn more about commonalities of group.

Activity: Have the group form a circle of chairs with one person standing in the middle. The person in the middle makes a statement about something related to themselves using the phrase “The wind blows for people who…” The speaker must include themselves in the statement.

For example: The middle person could say, “the wind blows for people who play a musical instrument,” or “the wind blows for those of us who have oldest siblings,” Everyone who that statement applies to gets up and finds another seat (not directly next to their own) in the circle. Whoever can’t find a seat goes in the middle next and does the same thing.
