Kathryn Jackson

By Victoria Williams
What stands out for Kathryn Jackson about her DePaul experience is her transition from undergraduate to graduate school. Her undergrad experience took place at a large state school that was overwhelming and hard to navigate.
What she loved most about graduate school at DePaul is that both the students and staff have a shared sense of pride. To be in an environment where people feel like they can “just be” was very beneficial for her. Today, she encounters many DePaul alumni in professional circles, and feels an instant connection as fellow Blue Demons.
“Our Alumni network is large and strong–our pride is unmatched in the midwest, in my experience. I meet and proudly connect with other DePaul graduates from all walks of life almost weekly.”

As Kathryn navigated her career, she felt lucky to have attended DePaul. She is still in contact with some of her professors, including her thesis advisor. Kathryn attributes her experience with DePaul’s Office of Mission and Ministry to unique perspectives she brings to the workplace.

“Our Alumni network is large and strong–our pride is unmatched in the Midwest, in my experience. I meet and proudly connect with other DePaul graduates from all walks of life almost weekly.”

“DePaul taught me to look at the world with a wide and empathetic lens, something that has helped me immensely, especially now that I’m a leader at my institution.”
She believes the DePaul community is incredibly unique. As an ASK program mentor, she sees the impact on current students.
“DePaul continues to embrace people from all walks of life. DePaul alumni are doing work that needs to be done globally. This is what makes DePaul a home to so many.”
