Ashley Ross is a senior pursuing her B.S. in Health Sciences with a double-minor in Psychology and Bioethics. Originally from the South Side of Chicago, Ashley always challenged herself to address disparities and give back to her community. She arrived at DePaul and immediately knew that service would be a huge part of her undergraduate experience.
“DePaul offers many opportunities for students to get involved, and the campus mission to serve others inspires me to want to do more for the individuals that undergo these hardships every day.”
Ashley plans to go to medical school. She believes that the life of a doctor provides a unique satisfaction – the reward of utilizing your knowledge to help a human being in need. Ashley’s innate drive to serve others parallels the drive found in fellow students at DePaul University.

“Studying at DePaul allowed me to become a well-rounded student, not only being able to succeed in my science classes, but I was also given the opportunity to take classes to learn about other cultures, social issues, and apply what I have learned to my future career path.”

Ashley describes her time at DePaul as a unique experience that you cannot receive anywhere else.
“I am grateful for the relationships I have built, the connections I have made, and the knowledge I have gained about the world we live in. DePaul cultivates a community that is based on taking action and setting high expectations for ourselves and those around us, and truly helping one another achieve these goals.”
Ashley is also the current President of the Tau Mu Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, the first African-American sorority founded in 1908 at Howard University. The Tau Mu Chapter at DePaul University was founded in 2012 and is rooted in sisterhood and service.
