Priyanka is a freshman studying public relations and advertising in the College of Communication. She’s from Hoffman Estates, a Chicago suburb, and lives on campus
How are you and your family paying for college?
My parents are contributing to my tuition and housing. I received the Dean’s Scholarship, Illinois MAP grant, DePaul University grant, and EDGE Program award.
Why did you choose to attend DePaul?
I chose to attend DePaul because I was seeking an urban education. DePaul does a spectacular job of incorporating the beautiful city of Chicago into its curriculum, which was a very attractive factor. DePaul also offers a highly acclaimed advertising program.
What do you hope to do after you graduate, and how is DePaul helping you prepare for this?
I hope to find a creative position at a major advertising agency. DePaul has been consistently providing me with resources to help me achieve my career goals. I was offered an EDGE Marketing Communications internship this year, which provided me with real-world internship experience. DePaul also presents an extensive alumni network featuring industry professionals who are willing to mentor current students .
What’s valuable about your student’s DePaul education that makes your investment worthwhile?
Priyanka’s father: What makes Priyanka’s DePaul education valuable and worth my investment is the responsibility and accountability that DePaul gives students, especially right off the bat. As a freshman, Priyanka was offered an internship that provided her with industry experience very early into her college career. This internship taught her the responsibilities and duties that come with an internship. DePaul’s urban location was also an attractive factor; as a family, we could definitely see Priyanka flourishing and thriving in the city.
