Patrick is a freshman enrolled in the Driehaus College of Business majoring in marketing with a concentration in sales leadership. He is from Downers Grove, a suburb of Chicago, and lives on campus.

How are you and your family paying for college?

My parents are generously paying for a portion of my schooling while I am using the St. Vincent de Paul Scholarship, EDGE Program grant and loans to pay for college.

Why did you choose to attend DePaul?

I chose to attend DePaul because I felt that the city gave me the unique advantage to mature and follow my dreams from one of the busiest cities in the world. I wanted college to not only be a fun time, but also a place where when I graduate in four years, I would be a much different person than when I came in.

What do you hope to do after graduation, and how is DePaul preparing you for this?

I hope to work in the sales field, as I genuinely enjoy working with people on a day-to-day basis, and having the ability to make as much as I can earn, and the sales industry offers that.

What’s valuable about your student’s DePaul education that makes your investment worthwhile?

Patrick’s father: We visited some Big 10 schools, along with DePaul and Loyola, and I felt that DePaul gave Patrick the platform to find not only a worthwhile career path but to also grow and progress as a young man. Living and working in the city will force him to mature in order to prosper, and I believe that is an extremely unique aspect of DePaul University that will hopefully make our investment worth it.
