We are a vibrant new club at DePaul University designed to unite students from diverse backgrounds under one creative and entrepreneurial roof. As the current leader of this budding organization, I am thrilled to share our story, mission, and vision for the future.

Who am I and Why Lead Blue Demon Techpreneurs?

My name is Niharika Desireddi, and I am a master’s student in Software Engineering and Entrepreneurship at DePaul University.

Throughout my personal and academic journey, I’ve observed many peers grappling with the real-world applications of their degrees. Often, I saw others only discover a lack of passion in their chosen field after years of study. This realization sparked my commitment to enhancing practical learning experiences through Blue Demon Techpreneurs.

The Genesis of Our Organization

The idea for Blue Demon Techpreneurs emerged from a simple yet profound desire: to integrate diverse perspectives and backgrounds into practical project work. Our aim is to provide a platform where students can explore various industries and start-ups through collaborative learning and skill-sharing. With the enthusiastic support of Professor Maija Renko, a champion of the entrepreneurial spirit at DePaul, and a dedicated team of founding members, we officially launched the club in March 2024.

Prospective solutions for real-time industry problems: The program is designed to expose students to real-world industry problems, allowing them to apply their academic knowledge to actual cases presented by industry experts and to work in practical, solution-oriented environments.

Our goal is to establish Blue Demon Techpreneurs as a cornerstone of DePaul University’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, continually adapting to the evolving educational and industry landscapes.
