Are you a student at DePaul looking for ways to get involved on campus? Let me tell you about DePaul Net Impact.

DePaul Net Impact is DePaul’s only professional sustainability network on campus for undergraduate and graduate students of any major. Our organization focuses on educating and providing resources for students interested in careers in impact, given how important sustainability and environmentalism have become in our world today. The impact industry has great opportunities and helps the world in many different ways.

Not only do we focus on environmental sustainability because of the climate crisis, we also focus on social, economic, and human sustainability as well. There are so many topics and themes that we base our events around. Some examples are renewable energy, ESG, entrepreneurship in impact, water conservation, waste management, efficiency, human rights, and more.

During the last couple of quarters, DePaul Net Impact has held events with speakers from the Shedd Aquarium, Art Institute of Chicago, Lincoln Park Conservatory, Surge For Water, HHPLIFT, and more. We have also held networking and member sessions, along with other creative and fun events. Last spring, we had the pleasure of presenting at and being involved with DePaul’s annual Hale Sustainability Conference.

This year, DePaul Net Impact is rebranding itself to help generate even more student interest and to further push the importance and the rise of impact careers.

Our calendar for fall is filled with various events like panels with industry professionals, discussions to enhance understanding of the industry and its opportunities, and other exciting activities. We also plan to collaborate with the Coleman Entrepreneurship Center for many of our events this year, driven by the increase in start-ups in impact during the last few years!

If you’re someone who wants to make an impact on our planet and other people, then join us! Getting involved with DePaul Net Impact is a great way to learn essential skills, gain experiences, have an impact on campus, and meet like-minded people. One of our mottos is that we strive to create a more just and sustainable world. Help us with our goal on campus!
