My Favorite Professors at DePaul 1/3 ( Computer Science edition)

1. Javid Validashti
I took Professor Validashi‘s MAT 140 (Discrete Mathematics 1) and MAT 141 (Discrete Mathematics 2) classes. He is a wonderful professor who tries his best to ensure that every student in the class understands the material at hand. By the end of the quarter, I am sure you will not wish to skip any of his classes as you will end up genuinely enjoying his teaching skills and occasional humorous puns here and there. I thoroughly recommend him!

3. Don Yanek
Introduction to Computer Science 1 (CSC 241) with Professor Yanek was the first computer science class I took, and I must say that it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. Throughout the quarter, he ensures that his students know that they belong in this field and that with hard work and understanding, it is possible to excel in computer science. This, along with his clear and thorough teaching style, was something which I enjoyed a lot and helped me fall in love with Python as a whole.

Computer science is one of the most popular majors of this day and age. The impact and demand it has on today’s present and tomorrow’s future are grand, to say the least. With the rise of technological dependencies on all sectors imaginable, it is only logical that current college students are flocking to computer science.
At DePaul University’s Jarvis College of Computing and Digital Media (CDM), the Computer Science degree is accompanied by brilliant professors who I wish to highlight today as they genuinely helped me understand heavy topics in a digestible manner.

2. Eric Sedgwick
Professor Sedgwick’s Introduction to Computer Science 2 (CSC 242) class is one of the best classes I have taken at DePaul. His energy and enthusiasm towards both the topic of computer science as a whole and teaching is very refeshing. He has a way of ensuring that his students leave his class appreciating this field, too. His assignments and exams are not the easiest, but he makes sure that you are all set for your future classes, which I highly appreciated.
