Let’s Talk About the Dean’s List

At the end of each academic quarter at DePaul, any full-time student who earned a 3.5 GPA and was enrolled in 12 graded hours is eligible for the Dean’s List. This is an incredible honor and a nice way for students to be commemorated for the hard work and effort they’ve showed throughout the quarter. Each college has their own Dean’s List so if you are placed on it, you will be on the same list as your peers in your specific college. A few colleges at DePaul post their lists online and you will receive an email at the end of the quarter to notify you if you have met the requirements. Being placed on the Dean’s list is a huge accomplishment and is even a feat that you can include on your resume post-college.

One of the things I love most about DePaul is the fact that we are on the quarter system. This means if you do not make the Dean’s List one quarter, you still have two quarters left during the year to aim for that goal. While this is not, whatsoever, a reflection of how intelligent you are or how much effort you have put into your classes, it can be something to strive for and a personal motivator throughout the quarter. Plus, you’ll reserve bragging rights at your next family function 😉
