Lakeview Taco Fest 2024
I entered the fest at no cost as soon as I got there. Immediately, I was greeted by one of the performance stages where a band was performing live! We walked south and were greeted by shops which were selling all kinds of stuff such as oxygen bars and jewellery. This one store selling Chicago-themed aesthetically pleasing souvenirs such as posters and magnets was my favourite pit stop. Soon, I got hungry and the numerous variety of different food options around me did not help.
I am vegetarian and finding something that entices my tastebuds and does not contain meat can be a challenge sometimes. However, this fest proved me wrong! With an order of Tacos with a very filling mix of vegetables, I was over the moon with the flavours dancing in my mouth. It was a no-brainer that this visit to the fest was a success!
Overall, the music mixed with the people dancing and enjoying the joys of tacos was a great environment for me to be in. I love Chicago exactly for this: the unmatched vibe and the Lakeview Taco Fest 2024 was a great testimony to that.

September 8th was seemingly a nonchalant day until I received an ad on Instagram about the “Lakeview Taco Fest 2024”. Located close to where I reside, I knew what we were doing that day!
The fest took over about eight blocks and had many things to offer such as two big live stages for music live events, many locally owned souvenir souvenir stores and most importantly – several food tents which offered delicious Latin food, including tacos.
I started small first, with an order of curly fries. As I was looking for the best taco to consume, I stumbled upon a place which offered hot and fresh, freshly made mini doughnuts. I HAD to get a portion of those! Dusted to perfection with powdered sugar, these sweet treats were the best dessert to have before the main course.
