College Dress Code
While there is no dress code at DePaul, sometimes there may be recommendations for events, presentations and the likes. I’m not saying everyday should be full out glam, but a lot of times I dress up to feel good.
College is the perfect place to let your style shine through. I am all for wearing what makes you comfortable. I love a layering piece, a little jewelry, and fun shoes. On gloomy, rainy days, you will often find me in a DePaul sweatshirt. I’m a firm believer that how you dress reflects on how you feel. Even if it’s a casual day I love adding a few accessories, from some layered necklaces to a cute pair of Converse.

Debunking Business Casual
Business casual is a biggie and no, I’m not just saying that because I am a business student. A lot of times for class presentations or events the email comes with the dreaded business casual reminder. That can mean so many things, from heels, dresses, slacks and a blouse, or anything else in between. There is a lot of variety for business casual and usually you can’t go wrong as long as you avoid a few no’s such as: no graphic tees, ripped jeans, crop tops, or athletic clothes. A lot of the time I find a nice pair of black slacks and a blouse do the job.
Business casual because it’s such a loose term has stumped me before. It depends on the occasion, weather and so much more. I know interviews and networking fall on the more business side of the line. If it’s a presentation for class or other event having a little more color and casualness is fine. I definitely suggest sending options to the group chat when you need help.

I want to stress again that there is no dress code for everyday classes. But I wholeheartedly suggest using this time to try different styles and express yourself. Also if something does have a dress code, don’t sweat it too much. And if you’re confused ask friends, professors, mentors, and yes, even your parents. They might have the perfect outfit in mind.
