Coleman Entrepreneurship Center: Looped In Event

A TV screen with the words “Looped In” written in white with a blue background, underneath the sign is a table filled with food, drinks, and snacks inside the Coleman Entrepreneur Center.

The welcome back event hosted by the Coleman Center is always an event I go to. This year I got to not only go, but to vend at it too! The Coleman Entrepreneurship Center hosts a lot of events throughout the year and they are welcome to all students. They always have something going on for students to attend and participate in. Every year they usually hold a Welcome Back Market of some sort. This year they called it “Looped In” where they had networking, food, and students could showcase their businesses and sell their goodies too!

I run my own stationery shop, SiennaSunnyStudio, so I got to show and sell. I make hand drawn birthday cards, notecards, painted bookmarks, and something new, art prints! Which was a huge success. Doing these events gives me a chance to see what sells and which items are popular. Since this was my first time offering art prints, the feedback I received on sizes, pricing and subject matter was very helpful. I also find these events so fun because everyone is so supportive.

In the left corner are a group of people talking over a laptop and showing a product. On the right side is a tv screen with the words “Looped In” written on it. And on the bottom are two students holding bottled fruit drinks with free samples on the table.

A great outcome of this event was that not only did I get to sell my notecards, but I also made new connections. A lot of faculty and staff come through and many of them have advice or know someone that could further your business. There is also the aspect of just getting out there. The event was a way for me to expand my reach and share my cards. Also the Coleman Center has so many resources available that you can learn about.

The Looped In event was a wonderful way to see all kinds of student innovation too. From cookbooks, crochet, yoga, and there was coffee for everyone. I love these events because I always meet new people, get to showcase my business, and be involved.
