Best Bites Near DePaul

Although most students typically end up at the Student Center to get food, I love exploring the city and trying things I’ve never had before. Being in the heart of Chicago, there are so many great off-campus restaurants located right at our front door! Here are some of my favorite Lincoln Park restaurants.

Sweet Mandy B’s is a DePaul staple, their known for their cupcakes and old-fashioned desserts. My go-to dessert is always a red velvet cupcake, but they have tons of other desserts, from brownies to pies.

Located on Clark and Wrightwood, about 15 minutes away from campus, Del Seoul is a family owned restaurant that offers amazing Korean BBQ with a modern twist. My favorite thing to get are Korean sesame shrimp tacos. They also have Vietnamese style Banh Mi sandwiches that are great vegetarian alternatives.

Dog Haus has amazing gourmet hot dogs, sausages, sliders, and burgers and it’s located only a short walk away from campus. They have a huge menu with so many variations of hot dogs and burgers, so I like to try something new every time I go there. I definitely recommend trying their cheesy tater tots along with anything on the menu everything I’ve had so far has been really good!

I’m embarrassed to admit that after almost two and a half years at DePaul, I only recently heard of Allende. Allende has great Mexican food, my favorites are their quesadillas and horchatas. They also stay open after midnight so it’s a great place to go to for late night bites!

Located right next to Sweet Mandy B’s is Floriole Cafe. This is one of my favorite bakeries to visit when I’m on the Lincoln Park campus. They have great avocado toast and croissants. It has a warm atmosphere and it’s a wonderful place to chill after class and get some work done.
