Attending a Disney Career Event at DePaul!
Discovering the Event!
As a Film and Television student extremely interested in employment opportunities at Disney, I was thrilled to learn that a Disney Career Event was happening at DePaul! It’s great to have opportunities come up that align with my interests, so I made sure to take advantage of this event. I reached out to a friend who’s just as passionate about Disney careers as I am, so I had a buddy to join me. Of course, I also made sure to wear my finest Disney gear—just so the Disney employees knew that I’m no fake fan!
Gaining Career Insights from Disney Professionals
The event was a great opportunity to hear from current Disney employees about the best ways for students to get involved with the company. The presentation also included a Q&A session where we received insider tips from a recruiter on what Disney looks for when they hire interns and apprentices. Learning about Disney’s core values and what they want to see in applicants’ materials was especially helpful as I prepare to apply for future roles.
Getting a Look Behind the Scenes of the Animation Process
The presenters also gave us a fascinating look into the intricate process of Disney Animation. It was inspiring to learn how many different teams collaborate to create movie magic at Disney. One of the highlights of the presentation was seeing the various stages of animation for Moana 2. They used examples from their process creating Moana 2 to explain the roles of each individual team that is a part of the animation process. This was such a unique peek behind the scenes at how Disney films come to life!
Career Center Events at DePaul!
DePaul’s Career Center hosts a variety of amazing events like this one to help students explore career opportunities in their chosen fields. These events are excellent resources for networking and building your resume, giving you a real edge when it comes to landing interviews!
Their Disney event was right up my alley, and I’m sure you could find one that fits your interests and career aspirations too!
