5 Things To Do in Chicago to Escape the Winter Cold

1. Walk through Lincoln Park Zoo

The zoo is right near the LP campus, is free, and has a ton of indoor exhibits to check out! The zoo is open year-round, and if you’re willing to brave the cold you can see the cold climate animals such as polar bears who love to play out in the snow!

2. Visit an Indoor Garden

The Garfield Park Conservatory feels like Spring year-round! Explore thousands of species of plants and feel refreshed from the outside climate. The conservatory takes about 90 minutes to explore so it’s the perfect winter activity that won’t leave you freezing outdoors!

3. Yoga in an Immersive Exhibit

Lighthouse ArtSpace hosts yoga events during their most popular exhibits including the Van Gogh, Monet, and Frida Khalo immersive experiences. Stay active during the winter cold, indoors with a unique fitness activity.

4. See a Broadway Show!

Chicago is home to beautiful theatres that put on spectacular broadway shows. Each season there are new shows to pick from! Broadway in Chicago occasionally offers discounted tickets to students!

5. Study in Harold Washington Library

Harold Washington Library is a block away from the Loop campus! The top floor has a bright Winter Garden and it is the perfect quiet spot to get your work done! It feels great to sit in the sunlight without the cold temperatures.
