DePaul to Host Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Forum

On May 14, DePaul will host its annual Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Forum. All faculty, staff and students are welcome to RSVP and attend. Attendees can participate in the entire forum or in specific sessions and workshops.

Each year, the forum brings together DePaul stakeholders to discuss and explore current issues and promising practices. The forum’s goal is to foster dialogue on how we can continue to create a welcoming campus environment where all can succeed and have a sense of belonging.

This year’s forum will focus on racial healing, free speech and its importance in the academy. The day will culminate with keynote speaker Eddie Glaude, Jr., who will discuss recent events through the lens of dismantling structural racism and next steps. Glaude, Jr., is a renowned author, and the James S. McDonnel Distinguished University Professor and chair of African American Studies  at Princeton University. Additional speakers include Anneliese Singh, an associate professor of counseling and human development at the University of Georgia; and Jonathan Friedman, the director of free expression and education at PEN America.
