APPLY NOW: 2021 Health Equity Academy Fellowship

Dear Health Advocates,
Families USA is excited to open applications for our 2021 Health Equity Academy Fellowship!

The goal of the fellowship is to cultivate a group of advocates from across the country who are equipped to engage in federal and state health equity advocacy over a year-long period.

Fellows will attend two half-day trainings in September (September 10th and 17th from 12pm – 3:30pm ET), with the second day featuring virtual visits with congressional offices to advocate for policies that promote health equity.

Fellows will then join a national group of federal and state health equity advocates who reconvene on monthly calls to maintain relationships, discuss strategies for pursuing health equity in their own states/communities, and learn and share from one another.

  • Selected fellows must have an expressed interest and/or experience working in at least one of the following areas:
    • Maternal and Child Health
    • Immigrant Health
  • Candidates must work at community-based organizations or other nonprofits only: state/municipal/federal government employees will not be considered. Incomplete applications will also not be considered.

The deadline for application submissions is August 23, 2021.

If you have a question about the fellowship application or training, please reach out to Shyloe Jones at sjones@familiesusa.org

For DePaul Counseling Students – An Exciting Change To Your Field Experience Process

Hello!

We’re reaching out to our current DePaul Counseling students to let you know that we’re implementing a new online platform called Tevera to manage your field experience.

Tevera will allow you to:

  • Search for approved field sites that complement your professional interests and personal strengths.
  • Apply for and confirm your field placements online.
  • Track your hours toward graduation and licensure.
  • Run time tracking reports for your field instructors to sign.
  • Automate the process for submitting site evaluations and other program assignments/assessments.

You’ll soon receive an email from Tevera asking you to register as a user. Please take these three important steps:

  1. Visit this pageto get an overview of Tevera’s benefits.
  2. Add noreply@app.tevera.comto your e-mail contacts to ensure that you receive the registration email.
  3. Keep an eye out for that registration email within the next few weeks. You will need to register in order to apply for field placement, log your hours and activities toward graduation and licensure, and submit evaluations and other assignments.

Once you’ve registered, take a look at the training videos and articles in your Tutorials workspace to better understand how Tevera helps you complete your most important tasks.

We will be launching Tevera with our program over the Fall 2021 quarter and appreciate your patience and feedback. We’re excited to offer you the opportunity to make more empowered decisions about your professional education through this new platform.
