WHO WE ARE

HykeLyfe was started in 2018 to further the mind/body connection for my clients and holistically treat the wellness need for each individual as best as possible. We offer both hiking therapy near the property and a beautiful, cozy, nature-inspired office so whether our clients are indoors or outdoors, they can feel natural peace.

We truly value a work/life balance here at Hykelyfe. We believe that happy, stress-free counselors do their best work and in order to give that to our clients, we provide a trusting, team-oriented, relaxed environment for our colleagues to thrive. We practice under a work-smarter model and have procedures in place to assist with this.

Our clients are mainly from the surrounding area, range in age (mostly teens and above), and are often coming in for individual therapy sessions, although we do sometimes get couples/families. Most of the struggles we see are mild to moderate in severity, we accept many different insurances, and have a structured payment procedure.

We are seeking counselors-in-training to complete a short online survey focused on understanding their attitudes toward clients who have dual diagnoses of substance use disorders and posttraumatic stress disorder. Participants will first watch a brief video describing a case, then respond to several validated measures related to counselors’ attitudes. Students are eligible to participate in the study if they:

a.) are enrolled in a CACREP-accredited master’s program (part- or full-time), and

b.) are enrolled in OR have completed at least one semester of practicum or internship.

We anticipate that participation, including viewing the video, will take approximately 20 to 30 minutes. To compensate participants for their time, everyone who completes the survey will have the opportunity to provide an email address in a separate linked survey to receive a $15 Amazon gift card. This email address will not be stored with any data, and no identifiable personal information will be collected.

We have attached a recruitment flyer to this email that can be shared directly with your students if you are willing to share information about this research study with students in your program.
