The Chicago Area Schweitzer Fellowship is currently recruiting graduate students to apply for 2026-2027 Schweitzer Fellowships. Information about the Fellowship program is available at our website. The deadline to apply is February 1st 2026.
The Schweitzer Fellowship is a prestigious year-long service learning program for graduate students in health-related professions who design and implement innovative direct-service projects aimed at improving the health and well-being of underserved Chicago area communities. Annually, they select 26 graduate students from diverse fields to become Fellows who will design and implement year-long direct service projects. In addition to their service projects, other elements of the Fellowship program inspire and inform the Fellows, and reinforce their commitment to community service. These elements include supportive mentors, trainings and workshops, and monthly meetings with a cohort of Fellows passionate about collaboration to improve health equity. Fellows receive a $2,750 stipend for their participation.
