In addition, our counselors facilitate lessons, run groups, conduct risk assessments, run the course selection process, and operate within an MTSS model to review data and identify students for appropriate interventions. We are confident our comprehensive school counseling program can provide a well-rounded experience in a diverse and academically challenging environment with an extensive list of opportunities to conduct a closing the gap project.

CPS Orientation Meeting Nov 2024 – PowerPoint Presentation
Please note that while the deadline for all CPS paperwork is February 1st (as we mentioned during the SC Professional Practice Orientation), the deadline for starting Step 1 of the CPS Application Process (completing the CPS Application Google form) is December 20th. That means you have between December 1st and December 20th to complete Step 1. Since this is a hard deadline, if you do not complete Step 1 of the process before December 20th, you will not be able to intern at a CPS school. Any specific questions about the CPS application process should be emailed to counselorintern@cps.edu.
