Schweitzer Fellowship – Application deadline 10 days away
Dear DePaul Students,
Only 10 days remain! The Schweitzer Fellowship is currently recruiting graduate students to apply for 2024-25 Schweitzer Fellowships. The deadline to apply is February 1st.

The Schweitzer Fellowship is a prestigious year-long critical service-learning program for 28 selected graduate students from diverse fields who design and implement innovative direct-service projects aimed at improving the health and well-being of underserved Chicago area communities. The Fellowship is designed to inspire and inform the Fellows, and to reinforce their commitment to service and social justice. Fellows are supported by mentors, engage in monthly meetings, and participate in interprofessional learning collaboratives. Fellows receive a $2,750 stipend for their participation.

Upcoming Mental Health First Aid Trainings
According to MHFA, “Youth Mental Health First Aid is an early intervention public education program. It teaches adults how to recognize the signs and symptoms that suggest a potential mental health challenge, how to listen nonjudgmentally and give reassurance to a youth who may be experiencing a mental health challenge, and how to refer a person to appropriate professional support and services.”
According to MHFA, “Mental Health First Aid for Adults teaches people how to recognize signs of mental health or substance use challenges in adults ages 18 and older, how to offer and provide initial help, and how to guide a person toward appropriate care if necessary. Topics covered include anxiety, depression, psychosis, and addictions.”

Classes for are for adults (18+) for YMFHA will be offered from the below dates and following times 9 AM-5 PM or 9-5:30PM pending curriculum. This course is valued at $170 per learner. Thanks to the Mental Health First Aid Training SAMHSA Grant, learners may attend at no charge.

Internship Opportunity- Josselyn Center
Josselyn Center is now accepting applications for the 2024-2025 internship year. As a part of the internship experience, Josselyn Center offers interns one hour of individual supervision, one hour of clinical group supervision, and one hour of administrative supervision every week, in addition to the open case consultation groups and CEU programs. Josselyn Center has offices in Northfield, Highland Park, Waukegan, and Grayslake. Interns will receive the same supervision and training in all locations.
