Employment Opportunity- The Center for the Study of Family Violence

The Center for the Study of Family Violence is looking for individuals who are interested in full-time positions in one of the following programs, which are funded by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (IDCFS). Successful candidates are passionate about promoting positive outcomes for children and enjoy working as part of a diverse team of professionals. Most work is conducted remotely, with close supervision within a supportive team environment.

 Clinical Screener – Integrated Assessment Program

This is a position with the Integrated Assessment Program that involves conducting specialized clinical mental health assessments of children birth through 18 years of age who are placed in substitute care and their former guardians. Assessments include developing a DSM-5 diagnostic impression, an assessment of violence potential as well as an assessment for capacity to parent. Clinical Screeners complete specialized reports of findings that are presented in a court of law as part of the adjudication and determination of the permanency of the case.

Clinical Assessor – Congregate Care Program

This is a position in the Congregate Care Assessment Program (CCAP). CCAP Clinical Assessors conduct independent assessments of youth in care to determine if placement in residential care is appropriate. Children placed in residential care have significant emotional and behavior concerns. These children are considered to be at high risk of serious harm toward self or others.

Minimum Required Qualifications –

  • Master’s degree from an accredited university in a clinical or related area of study, such as social work, counseling, clinical psychology, or community counseling;
  • Active clinical professional license issued by the State of Illinois that allows for independent clinical practice: Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW), Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT). Will consider license eligible LPCs and LSWs.
