Update on Counseling Specialty Areas

This is to inform all DePaul Counseling students of the sunsetting of the College Counseling and Student Affairs (CCSA) Specialty Area. Current students in the CCSA specialty area will be able to finish their remaining coursework, including all CCSA specialty courses, by spring of 2025. No other specialty areas will be impacted by the CCSA sunsetting.

The term “sunsetting” means that we are gradually closing the specialty area. We will not admit new students into the CCSA specialty area beginning fall 2023. In the 2023-24 academic year, we will offer all year two and year three CCSA specialty courses. In 2024-25, we will offer all year three specialty courses only. Beginning in Fall 2025, no CCSA specialty courses will be offered.
