Job Opportunity – NU Admissions
- Developing a comprehensive knowledge of admissions procedures and policies with the purpose of assisting prospective students through the application process via phone, e-mail, and in-person meetings with walk-in visitors.
- Learning and mastering the general undergraduate admission information session(s), and presenting this session to prospective students, parents, and other visitors.
- Managing the admission office and student staff on select Saturdays throughout the year (typically in fall and spring), including opening/closing the building and the execution of all admissions programming.
- Graduate Admission Counselors also have the ability to read applications during the winter quarter to fully understand the admissions process –great opportunity for those interested in gaining reading experience.

Internship Opportunity – Latinx Talk Therapy
Latinx Talk Therapy is a mental health clinic in downtown Chicago. We offer culturally sensitive psychological services in English and Spanish to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families living in Illinois. Our goal is to reduce the mental health disparity gap in treatment and prevalence within the Latinx community. Our Clinical Internship Program provides graduate students with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience in the mental health field while working alongside experienced clinicians. Clinical interns will have the chance to learn about cultural sensitivity in therapy, work with the Latinx population, receive clinical supervision from an LCPC/LCSW, receive clinical feedback during Monthly Group Case Consult, and practice their clinical skills.

History Rhymes: Black Organizing and Public Education Policy Since the Mid-20th Century
DePaul University is pleased to welcome Dr. Elizabeth Todd-Breland who will present the inaugural talk of The Dr. Andrew T. and Alice O. Kopan College of Education Social Sciences and Leadership Endowed Lecture Series, “History Rhymes: Black Organizing and Public Education Policy Since the Mid-20th Century.”
Dr. Elizabeth Todd-Breland is author of A Political Education: Black Politics and Education Reform in Chicago Since the 1960s and Associate Professor of History and Affiliated Faculty member in Black Studies at the University of Illinois Chicago.
Dr. Todd-Breland’s talk will explore the racial politics of education reform in Chicago during the 1960s as it unfolded through community-based strategies of Black students, educators, parents, and activists and the relationship to the recent reorganization of the public sphere.
This event is free and open to the public. Please consider bringing your class if you teach on Thursday evenings or offering attendance as an extra credit option if your class meets another evening.
