The Couples Clinic are now accepting applications for our 1-year and 2-year Couples Therapy Post-Graduate Fellowships! Please consider forwarding the following information to your current and past counseling graduates!
The Couples Clinic is home of a team of innovative therapists and researchers who have created Pragmatic/Experiential for Couples (PET-C), detailed in the books, Emotional Intelligence in Couples Therapy, and Developing Habits for Relationship Success. PET-C is scientifically based, drawing from recent advances in neurobiology and the science of intimate relationships. We offer the following fellowships:
Two-Year Post-Graduate Couples Therapy Fellowship
- Ideal for recent graduates who are beginning to work towards full licensure.
- Two full years of paid intensive training and supervision in PET-C

One-Year Post-Graduate Couples Therapy Fellowship
- Ideal for past graduates who may already be licensed or will be within a year.
- One full year of paid intensive training and supervision in PET-C.
- Click here and scroll down to “Fellow Pay and Benefits” for information regarding compensation and benefits of the One-Year Paid Fellowship in Couples Therapy.
Both Fellowship options are designed to generate highly competent therapists who will 1) have an opportunity to fulfill the supervision and clinical contact hour requirements for full licensure in the state of Illinois, and 2) put themselves in a great position to receive offers to become full-time Clinic team members once the Fellowship has been completed if they demonstrate excellence during the Fellowship.
In past years, The Couples Therapy Fellowship has often served as a stepping-stone to a full-time position at The Couples Clinic. Couples Clinic therapists can earn up to six figures per year, doing the work that they love with an amazing team of colleagues who are like-minded in their commitment to excellence in couples’ therapy.
They will begin reviewing applications on January 15, 2024, and begin interviewing applicants in early February. The two-year fellowships will begin July 1, 2024 (One-year fellowships may begin sooner).
