Hinsdale South High School is seeking applicants for a school counseling internship for the 2023-2024 school year. Hinsdale South High School is an economically diverse (about 24% low-income) and ethnically diverse (16% Black, 15% Hispanic, 10% Asian) high school located in Darien, IL.

CSI DPU Mentorship Program (Deadline Tomorrow)

The CSI Board is excited to launch this year’s mentorship program and they need you!  This is a great opportunity to be paired up with another counseling student in a mentee or mentor capacity, gain leadership experience, have a safe place to get support, and add a future counseling field colleague to your network.  

Please review the attached brochure and complete the application form within the document to tell us about your interest.  Applications are due by October 28th, 2022, and matches will be announced by November 7th, 2022.

Overview

Center Focused Therapy (CFT) is a group psychotherapy practice located in downtown Chicago dedicated to providing the highest level of intentional, compassionate, and informed care for our diverse client population. CFT is seeking Internship Candidates who are committed to providing assistance with task completion while pursuing their own personal and professional growth.

The goal of this Internship is to expose early-career students to a private, psychotherapy practice/group practice setting.

The primary foci of the training program are to:

  1. Foster the Intern’s ability to consistently provide intentional, high-quality work.
  2. Consistently adhere to the highest ethical standards of our field.
  3. Support all team members in their professional development, including fostering the development of Interns’ specific areas of interest and emerging expertise, as well as marketing and other skills necessary to maintaining a successful independent practice.

We believe in the value of community and are dedicated to building a collaborative and diverse team that upholds the values of social justice and cultural humility. We believe in enacting the values we hold, not only with clients but also amongst ourselves, and find that we all gain from the opportunities for continued growth and mutual support offered by fostering a community based on respect, transparency, authenticity, and trust. Our team meets monthly, currently socially distanced or virtually, for team building and social activities.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, dedicated to supporting the team in providing services to marginalized populations, self-reflective, and open to feedback.

Intern Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answer phone inquiries, direct calls, and provide basic company information; oversee mail deliveries, packages, and couriers.
  • Assist in preparing information and research materials; create and maintain google forms, job descriptions and miscellaneous marketing materials.
  • Run general industry related errands.
  • Attend company functions and networking events Shadow multiple office positions and train in a variety of tasks.
  • Update and post supervised social media and website content; respond to web correspondence, social media posts, and emails.

 

Intern Requirements and Qualification

  • High school degree or equivalent; must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-directed and able to work without supervision.
  • Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.

Details

  • 10-20 hours a week.
  • 6 month position commitment.
  • 3 months unpaid with review to paid position in later 3 months Remote Work Option (Partial or Fully).
