Path from Trauma to Resilience Webinar

Resiliency is one of the keys to future success. But many people who have experienced trauma (clients as well as therapists!) find themselves locked into ways of responding that are limiting and leave them feeling stuck, disconnected, or out of control of their life experiences. More than just symptom reduction, resiliency involves an overall capacity to deal with life’s challenges now and in the future – because life certainly presents challenges. Somatic approaches provide an understanding of our innate stress response system and offer tools for navigating the way back to resiliency. This didactic and experiential workshop will provide a brief introduction to somatic approaches to therapy including Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Yoga-Informed Psychotherapy and the lens of the Polyvagal Theory. We will explore perspectives and skills for enhancing resiliency through mindful awareness, self-regulation and the restoration of the body’s natural defenses.
